A home safety evaluation is an important step in readying the home for discharge planning from a stay at a hospital or rehabilitation facility or simply to age in place. A proper assessment will address many issues not easily recognized. Many conditions that can be injurious to an individual are common place items and surroundings. As caregivers, we owe it to ourselves and our loved ones to provide the safest environment possible.
